Welcome to O'Connor Dental Centre

Our team of dentists, hygienists and support staff have been serving patients in the historic township of East York for over 20 years.

We provide a full range of dental services, including restorative, cosmetic and preventive treatments. With our service offering, we can help you achieve all your goals for the health and aesthetics of your smile.

We want to help make dental care as attainable as possible for all our patients. We're easily accessible by public transit from a number of local neighbourhoods, including Topham Park, Parma Court, Bermondsey and Clarlea. We also offer evening and weekend appointments and new patients are always welcome. Our dentists and hygienists look forward to meeting you and your family.

Our Dentists

Dr. Lucia Lam

General Dentist

Dr. Lucia Lam graduated with honours from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto in 2000. She then completed a one year residency program at the University of Toronto before she began her full-time private practice.

A believer in lifelong learning, Dr. Lam regularly attends continuing education courses to keep herself up-to-date with new advances in dentistry.

Dr. Lam is known to her patients for her gentle chairside manner, thoroughness and attention to details.

“The most rewarding part of my job is seeing healthy, beautiful smiles in my patients and be able to connect to my patients and their family members on a personal level.”

Dr. Lam is fluent in Cantonese.
Dr. Barbara Shearer

General Dentist

Dentistry is an exacting profession that requires knowledge, skill, and patience. Dr. Shearer strives to provide the best care possible. Individuals present with unique needs. Dr. Shearer feels her most important responsibility is to listen to her patient’s concerns.

Dr. Barbara Shearer graduated from the University of Toronto Dental School in 1989. Since that time she has attended numerous continuing education courses to strengthen her skills in implantology, Invisalign (invisible braces), cosmetic dentistry, and other areas of dentistry. Dr. Shearer finds continuing education renews her love and passion for her profession.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed providing quality dental care but the fun in my day comes from the personal interactions with my patients. My patients are the joy of my job.”

Dr. Shearer has been a fixture in the East York O’Connor area for more than 25 years. She loves the small town feel of the neighbourhood.

“It is such a kick to watch a child grow up in our practice and then one day, lead their child in for their first dental visit.”

Dr. Eli Filliotis

General Dentist

Dr. Eli Filliotis has been practicing dentistry since graduating from University of Toronto in 1999. After completing a residency at Toronto General Hospital where she worked on medically compromised patients, Dr. Eli settled into private practice. Her practice style focuses on prevention, identifying dental issues in their early stages. She spends time educating her patients about the risks and benefits of treatment options, allowing them to make more informed decisions regarding their oral health. Continuously seeking opportunities for educational advancement, Dr. Eli is a member of the world-renowned Kois Centre in Seattle where she regularly attends courses on complex constructive dental therapy.

Dr.Eli is trained in the Invisalign clear aligner tooth straightening system along with Digital Smile Design, a digital treatment planning tool that enhances communication between herself and her patients. As a general dentist, Dr.Eli is happy to treat patients of all ages.

She is trained in “laughing gas” Nitrous Oxide sedation and is fluent in Greek.

Dr. Eli is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Hannah Der

General Dentist

Dr. Hannah Der graduated from the University of Western Ontario where she obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She has been a patient at O’Connor Dental Centre since she was young and was inspired to become a dentist after shadowing Dr. Barbara Shearer. She is thrilled to be back working at O’Connor Dental Centre as a clinical provider and she hopes that she can also inspire others with her passion for oral health. Her goal as a dentist is to help her patients feel at home and well taken care of through her compassionate and meticulous attention to detail. In her spare time, she enjoys going on outdoor runs as well as travelling to new countries.
Dr. Ryan Lichtblau

General Dentist

Dr. Ryan Lichtblau studied Health Sciences at Wilfrid Laurier University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2017. Following this, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2021 from the University of Toronto. Upon completing his degree, he was awarded with the Dr. Norman Levine Award in Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics for his academic and clinical achievements. He strives for excellence in his knowledge and abilities to provide the best quality care for his patients and believes communication and trust is key to achieving his patient’s oral health needs and goals. Dr. Lichtblau has always had a passion for helping others and is hoping that through communication and patient-centred care he will be able to make going to the dentist as an enjoyable an experience as possible for his patients.

When Dr. Lichtblau is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, is an avid runner and cyclist, and loves cheering on the Toronto Raptors.
